Having the opportunity of going to Sweden for my academic exchange was a unique and unforgettable experience. At first, when I got the pamphlet from the International Programs Office and realized that I was a candidate for the program, I didnt consider it as an option because I thought it would be a waste of time. After that, I started doing research about the countries where I could go and decided to apply to see where I would be assigned. When I knew it was Sweden and did some research about it, I realized that it was the second most important country with English as a second language in the world. That was one of the reasons why I enrolled.

It was difficult at first for me because I was used to studying, but not to living alone, cooking, doing laundry, ironing my clothes, and cleaning my room. Being with people from other countries opens your eyes and changes the way you see the world. I got to know amazing people during my semester abroad, and I consider them my family now; I have even spent the Holidays with their families. Participating in an academic exchange is an indescribable experience because it is unique for every person, but if there is something I can guarantee is that you will not want to go back home at the end of the semester.
